The new Beverly Hills Diet

This new type of diet is based on the intelligent combination of alimentary products – eating the right food at the right moment. The classical diets are quite strict and may last more than a month.
The Beverly Hills diet consists in eating three times a day , making sure you do not mix carbohydrates with proteins and vice versa.
This diet allows mixing proteins with proteins and carbohydrates with carbohydrates and fruits will be eaten alone.

Fruits such as: watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, will be eaten in the morning on an empty stomach. They may be eaten without limits, the only restriction being that one should eat only one type of fruit and should wait for at least one hour before eating another type of fruit and two hours before eating carbohydrates or proteins. If one eats carbohydrates of proteins, fruits will be forbidden for the rest of the day. If one eats carbohydrates the diet for the rest of the day will consist in eating carbohydrates. It is the same with proteins.
Fruit juice will be consumed together with fruits while alcoholic drinks are considered to be part of the carbohydrates group. Champaign is considered neutral and can accompany any type of meal.
This entire diet is based on the idea that it is not the food in itself that causes gaining weight but the inefficient digestion.

For example:
- fruits are digested separately. Their digestion takes from 15 to 20 minutes.
- carbohydrates take about 3 hours to be digested and their digestions starts in the mouth when they get in contact with saliva. This is why one should bear in mind that when eating food rich in carbohydrates he should chew , chew and chew.
- proteins are digested in about 10 hours.

Digestion becomes inefficient for example when one eats a product that the body digest rapidly ( e.g. potatoes – which are carbohydrates) with products that take a longer period of time to be digested ( e.g. stake – which is a source of proteins).
